Bathroom Ideas & Tips – In this guide we check on how to declutter bathroom easily within few steps.
This article is directed to all those of you who have bathrooms filled with products & cosmetics, which are preventing the bathroom from being a relaxing room to clean and beautify as the clutter is just too stressful. When it comes to de-cluttering the bathroom, it really comes down to all or nothing. You either keep items and tidy them away or bin them. No Ebay or donation bag exists in this realm of the house because next to no one wants your half used facial wash or spare razor. So be strict with yourself; remember you do not need or use all this stuff and remind yourself how good it can feel only possessing the necessities.
Now there’s no point being wasteful, why not try and use products lurking in your cupboard- you obviously bought them for a reason in the first place. so long as they do not have mould growing on them of course! Often expensive shower gels and moisturizers that you receive for birthdays, Christmas or when you’ve had a splurge, you tidy away for “special occasions”? In reality, on special nights out and days when we want to look our best, we completely forget about these luxury products we have waiting in our cupboards. So why not get them out and actually use them or give them to somebody who will? You can only keep the luxury deep hair conditioner on the condition that you use it! However please do remember that if cosmetics are too old, they are likely to be rife with bacteria- in this case, definitely toss it as it is not worth posing a danger to your health.
So we’ve covered the products that you don’t use because you’re “saving” them but what about products that have ended up in a pile of disuse because they simply don’t work. How many hair serums have we all tried before we found the right one or nail varnishes that chip after one hour? So many of us hang on to products that do not work out of some sort of duty for the price we originally paid? If you don’t like them, bin them… no one will ever know!
Most girls and not so many boys like to repeat buy. Many girls have a fetish for a certain product and will buy it over and over again, even though they already have lots left of the same to get through. I am like this with moisturisers and body butters. I’m a sucker for a nice cocoa butter and won’t let it pass me by. But I need to remember that it is likely to still be in the shops in a couple of months after I have finished the first. Bargain products also cause me to buy items prematurely… but is it really worth the clutter? When de-cluttering knock down the number- keep one or two favourites and get rid of the rest. But more importantly remember to not buy them in the first place, only if you have ran out and they are needed of course.
The best way to go about this De-clutter Mission is to sort into two boxes, any more will get confusing. One for the products you will keep and the ones to get rid of. Be strict with yourself and you will actually find yourself relieved when you have a box load of products to chuck. Once you have picked up a product, decide what you are going to do with it straight away as opposed to leaving such a “difficult decision” for later, otherwise the whole process will take forever!
The products you use on a daily basis will need to be within easy reach, so keep these out on the side or on a shelf. For the items you use weekly or bi-weekly, put them in a cupboard or create some other storage arrangement like a wicker tidy with drawers- these look great in the bathroom. Any products that you are using on a less regular basis than this should have been in the chuck pile!
Now de-cluttered, you will find your bathroom experience is a lot less stressful and the whole area will be much easier to clean. Cleaning will be much more thorough with clutter out of the way and the entire process should be a lot quicker.
So go on, get started today and say “Hello” to a clutter-free you!
